From the city of Oaxaca, take any east-bound colectivo (Mex$15) originating from the sitio southeast of the Abastos market or bus departing from the main second-class bus station north of the Abastos market traveling along Highway 190 and going as far as Teotitlán, such as Tlacolula or Mitla. These same colectivos and second-class buses can be flagged down at the northeast corner of the baseball stadium (De Los Derechos Humanos and Eduardo Vasconcelos) and pass through Santa María del Tule and can be taken from the traffic light on the main road, Benito Juarez. Get off at the Macuilxochitl exit, well marked, about two kilometers (one mile) east of the San Jerónimo Tlacochahuaya exit. The narrow paved road to the ruins is thirty meters west of the Macuilxochitl exit on the south side of the road. If you're driving from the city of Oaxaca, the west, the road is unmarked except for a small sign directing you to turn right for the ruins in 1 kilometer, although if you're driving from the east there's a sign at the turn. The ruins are about a kilometer (half mile) southwest of the highway. To return to Oaxaca or Santa María del Tule, flag down a west-bound colectivo or bus from the side of the highway at the Macuilxochitl exit. The ruins are open daily from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The cost is Mex$31.
