Flying from the UK & Ireland — México

Jump to: navigation, search

The only scheduled non-stop flights from the UK (there are none from Ireland) are from London to México City with Mexicana (Gatwick) and British Airways (Heathrow). Flying from anywhere else in UK or Ireland or to destinations in México other than México City will involve making connections in London, somewhere else in Europe, or in the US.

The quickest and cheapest hubs for connecting through the US are Atlanta, Houston, Miami, and New York. Continental has the most non-stop flights to México from the US; next is American Airlines. Also worth mentioning are Mexicana and Aeroméxico; both have extensive coverage from the US. (For more information on getting to México from the US, read the article "Flying from the US.")

Paris, Madrid, and Frankfurt are all good hubs for non-stop flights to México City: from Madrid try Aeroméxico, Air Europa, Iberia, and Mexicana; from Paris try Aeroméxico and Air France; and from Frankfurt try Lufthansa. Air Berlin flies non-stop to Cancún from numerous locations throughout Europe.

There are frequent charter flights from London, Birmingham, Gatwick, Glasgow, and Manchester to Cancún. Check with local travel agents for flight and vacation packages.

A quick way to figure out carrier, route, and fare options is to check a few of the UK-, Ireland-, and Europe-focused travel search websites such as www.expedia.co.uk, www.travelocity.co.uk, www.opodo.com, and www.ebookers.com.
