Santo Tomás Jalieza, Oaxaca

Jump to: navigation, search

Second-class ordinario buses heading north or south on highway 175 between Oaxaca and Ocotlán will stop at the intersection with the main road into the village of Santo Tomás Jalieza. From there, it's an easy five minute walk to the crafts market, or take a mototaxi.

The sitio for colectivos for Ocotlán and the city of Oaxaca is in front of the Zócalo, just north of the crafts market. Camionetas bound for Ocotlán leave from there as well.

In Ocotlán, colectivos and camionetas depart for Santo Tomás Jalieza (Mex$7) from the sitio on Cuauhtémoc. From the northwest corner of the Zocalo, walk north on the main road into Ocotlan for one block, turn left on Corregidora, and then continue for one and a half blocks until you come to Cuauhtémoc, marked by a sign to the parking lot. Turn right and walk fifty meters until you come to the parking lot.

Friday is market day.
